What is the Impact on Our Environment?
| Let's go back in time a little to an article
published on October 23rd, 1989 in HCS Market Insight, a BIS CAP International
publication, an estimated 12 million toner cartridges were to be purchased in 1989. That
figure was to be projected to increase to an estimated 16.3 million in 1990 and 34 million
in 1993. Of the 1989 purchases, BIS CAP estimated that less than 7% would be recycled.
That translated into about 11.2 million toner cartridges, almost 22,000 tons or 5.6
million cubic feet of waste in landfills across the country. Our environmental problems and tendency toward gross waste of resources is a national disgrace. Many people are just now beginning to realize that these problems cannot be legislated away, but that personal and organizational involvement at the user level is the only way our problems can be efficiently solved. At NewproNet, we have the technology to recycle a product, with no loss of quality and consistency, and to save many customers hundreds, or even thousands of dollars each year. If you have read this far, you are now aware of an opportunity to become involved. Alone, we are not going to solve the problems with our landfills, nor end the national embarrassment of waste, but it's a start. If your still not interested in recycling your toner cartridges for your own use, then consider sending them to/or having them picked-up by NewproNet, or any other remanufacturer for recycling or proper disposal. |
